SSP, DC Shaheed Benazirabad review Muharram security arrangements

NAWABSHAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jun, 2026) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shaheed Benazirabad, Sameer Noor Channa, along with Deputy Commissioner Abdul Samad Nizamani, on Sunday conducted a detailed review visit of security and administrative arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.

They visited Sakrand and Qazi Ahmed to inspect routes of processions and gatherings, assess security measures, and review arrangements at Imambargahs, issuing immediate directives on the spot. In view of the sacred month of Muharram, both officers jointly toured various areas of the district to ensure foolproof security and maintain law and order.

They first visited the jurisdiction of Sakrand Police Station, where they thoroughly reviewed routes of mourning processions and religious gatherings. During the visit, special attention was given to procession routes, narrow streets, turning points, and sensitive locations. Security arrangements at Imambargahs, including walk through gates, CCTV surveillance, and lighting systems, were also inspected.

Later, the SSP and Deputy Commissioner visited Qazi Ahmed Police Station to review arrangements for historic gatherings and processions.

Officials on-site were briefed in detail regarding procession routes, placement of containers, alternative routes, and traffic management plans. Both officers issued necessary instructions regarding administrative and security measures and directed that all identified issues be resolved immediately. SSP Sameer Noor Channa instructed police officials to ensure strict security, snap checking, and continuous monitoring during processions.

Deputy Commissioner Abdul Samad Nizamani directed relevant departments to ensure proper sanitation, functioning street lights, availability of water coolers, and establishment of medical camps.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Sameer Noor Channa said that maintaining peace and harmony during Muharram is top priority, and no miscreant would be allowed to disrupt law and order. He appealed to the public to cooperate fully with the administration. Deputy Commissioner Abdul Samad Nizamani added that the district administration is working in coordination with religious scholars and organizers to ensure peaceful observance of Muharram, utilizing all available resources.
