SRSO Launches Tree Plantation Drive in Sukkur

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Mar, 2026) The Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) has initiated a community tree plantation drive in Sukkur as part of its Spring 2026 initiative. The drive saw the distribution and planting of 1,669 trees in Village Organization Yar Muhammad Shaikh and VO Muhammad Achar, UC Khabri Bhitt, Taluka Salehpat.

The District Manager Khan Muhammad and team members promoted indigenous and fruit trees among community members, aiming to improve household food and nutrition security while promoting climate resilient practices. Beneficiaries with a poverty score of 0-23 and recipients of low-cost housing received two trees each one fruit and one non fruit tree, which they planted in front of their homes.

An orientation session preceded the distribution, highlighting trees' role in environmental improvement, soil health, and climate resilience.
