SRSO distributes solar home system kits among 146 households

SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jun, 2026) The Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) on Wednesday distributed solar home system kits to 146 deserving households in Jamshoro and Sanghar districts under the Sindh government’s Solar Home System Project.

The kits were handed over at separate ceremonies held in the two districts. The initiative is being implemented with financial support from the Energy Department, Government of Sindh, and covers both on-grid and off-grid solar solutions.

The project aims to provide reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy to 275,000 households across Sindh through a transparent selection process.

According to SRSO Spokesperson Jameel Ahmed, 75 eligible households in Sehwan taluka of Jamshoro and 71 in Khipro taluka of Sanghar received the kits after a detailed verification and scrutiny process.

Beneficiaries were identified, surveyed, and approved in line with the eligibility criteria set under the Sindh government’s Solar Energy Programme.

Prior to distribution, recipients were given orientation on the proper installation, use, and maintenance of the solar home systems to ensure maximum benefit from the facility.
