Spiritual gathering held in Rawalpindi to mark Fatimah al-Zahra’s (AS) death anniversary

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Feb, 2026) A spiritual gathering was held here at Idara Taleemat-e-Islamia Pakistan on Monday to mark the death anniversary of Hazrat Fatimah al-Zahra (AS), where speakers highlighted the virtues of Ahl al-Bayt and their enduring spiritual legacy.

Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection Syed Imran Wali Shah presided over the event, while former secretary Auqaf Punjab Tahir Raza Bukhari and President Islamabad High Court Bar Association Syed Wajid Ali Gilani Advocate attended as distinguished guests. The proceedings were conducted by Sheikh Muhammad Qasim, Deputy Director of Idara Taleemat-e-Islamia Pakistan.

Addressing the gathering, Syed Riaz Hussain Shah quoted a saying of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), stating that he had left among the Ummah two weighty things — the Holy Qur’an and his Ahl al-Bayt — and urged believers to remain steadfast in their love and reverence for both.

Syed Imran Wali Shah said that love and reverence for Ahl al-Bayt was an honour for every believer and cited Imam al-Shafi‘i, who declared that love for the Prophet’s (PBUH) family was integral to faith. He emphasised that reverence for the noble household was integral to the faith of a Muslim.

Tahir Raza Bukhari, referring to the teachings of philosopher-poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal, said women seeking true elevation should follow the example of Hazrat Fatimah al-Zahra (AS), adding that no woman could attain a more exalted status than that granted to her.

The speakers also offered special prayers for unity among Muslims and the well-being of the country.
