Special medical facilities to be provided to participants of Muharram processions

SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jun, 2026) Director Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Cap (Retired) Dr Raheem Bux Bhatti on Monday, directed to provide the best medical facilities to participants of the processions during Muharram-ul-Haram.

In the directions issued here, the Director of GIMS said that special arrangements have been made to provide medical facilities in the GIMS hospital on 6th, 8th, 9th, and 10th Muharram. He said that special beds would be allocated in the hospital during Muharram, adding that the duty roster of indoor, operating theaters, and pharmacies would be issued. In the emergency ward, paramedical staff including medical, nursing, paramedical and support staff will perform 24-hour duties.

He said that during Muharram, security staff would perform 24-hour duties in the hospital.

Dr. Raheem Bux Bhatti added that during Muharram, the availability of medicines, vaccines, IV fluids, surgical and non-surgical disposables and blood bags would be ensured in the GIMS hospital. He said that operation theaters remained fully operational during Muharram, adding, ambulances with trained staff would also be available in the hospital. Helpline number of GIMS would be fully operational for coordination of arrangements during the holy month.
