PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th May, 2026) Comprehensive arrangements have been made across the province for security, cleanliness, traffic management, tourist facilitation, emergency response and timely disposal of sacrificial animal waste during Eid-ul-Azha 2026.
According to directives issued from the office of the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, all Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Police, Rescue 1122, local government bodies, Health Department, Livestock Department, Tourism Department and other relevant institutions have been instructed to ensure special arrangements before and during Eid holidays.
Authorities have been directed to make strict security and crowd management arrangements at Eidgahs, masajid, Imambargahs, markets and cattle markets in all districts.
Only officially approved cattle markets will be allowed to operate, while action will be taken against illegal cattle markets set up on roads, bridges and in residential areas. Major cattle markets will be provided with parking facilities, drinking water, shade, lighting and complaint redressal services.
The Livestock Department will ensure inspection, vaccination and disease prevention measures for sacrificial animals, while public awareness campaigns will also be launched regarding the identification of sick animals and precautionary measures.
Strict monitoring of transport fares, action against profiteering, hoarding and underweight selling have also been directed. Hotels, bakeries, sweet shops and other food outlets will also be inspected.
Local government institutions and Water and Sanitation Services Companies have been instructed to launch special cleanliness campaigns during Eid days for the timely collection and safe disposal of animal waste and offal.

Police have been directed to remain on high alert before and during Eid at markets, tourist destinations and public gatherings. Special action will be taken against one-wheeling, aerial firing, over-speeding and motorcyclists riding without helmets.
In tourist districts, authorities will ensure implementation of traffic plans and availability of fuel, food and drinking water, while help desks will also be established at key tourist spots. Strict implementation of safety SOPs at rivers, lakes and dams has been ordered, and boating without life jackets will not be allowed.
The Health Department has been directed to keep emergency services, X-ray units, pharmacies, ambulances and trauma facilities operational round the clock in all hospitals.
District administrations have also been instructed to establish 24/7 control rooms and widely publicize helpline numbers through media and social media platforms.
The Information Department has been tasked with running awareness campaigns regarding Eid arrangements, traffic diversions, tourist advisories, emergency numbers, cleanliness and public safety, while immediate rebuttal of fake and panic-spreading news on social media has also been directed.
Similarly, banned organizations or unauthorized individuals will not be allowed to collect hides or donations during Eid-ul-Azha. Deputy Commissioners have also been directed to visit jails, hospitals, orphanages and welfare institutions during the Eid holidays.
