Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, received a telephone call from the newly elected Speaker of the Parliament of Bangladesh, Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Mar, 2026) Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, received a telephone call from the newly elected Speaker of the Parliament of Bangladesh, Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed.

The Bangladeshi Speaker expressed his gratitude to the Speaker of the National Assembly for the congratulatory message sent to him on his election.

During the conversation, both leaders discussed various avenues for further strengthening parliamentary relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promoting parliamentary cooperation, enhancing mutual engagement, and fostering the exchange of parliamentary experiences with the Parliament of Bangladesh.

Both counterparts also held a detailed discussion on matters of mutual interest, regional cooperation, and the promotion of parliamentary diplomacy.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed hope that enhanced interaction between the parliaments of the two countries would contribute to further strengthening bilateral relations.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq extended an invitation to the newly elected Bangladeshi Speaker, Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, to visit Pakistan, stating that the Parliament and people of Pakistan would warmly welcome his visit. The Bangladeshi Speaker accepted the invitation and expressed his intention to visit Pakistan in the near future.

The NA Speaker conveyed his best wishes to the newly elected Speaker of Bangladesh and prayed for his continued success.
