SPAL continues cleanliness operation at cattle markets across city

The Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) has deployed its sanitation staff at cattle markets established across the city to ensure cleanliness arrangements ahead of Eid-ul-Azha

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) The Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) has deployed its sanitation staff at cattle markets established across the city to ensure cleanliness arrangements ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

On the directions of Suthra Punjab Authority Director General Babar Sahib Din, cleanliness operations are actively underway at Shahpur Kanjran, Saggian, Raiwind, Kahna, Paragon and Adda Rakh Chabeel cattle markets. More than 50 sanitation workers and over 23 vehicles have been mobilized in three shifts to maintain uninterrupted cleanliness arrangements at the cattle markets. The cleaning operation includes the deployment of 11 arm-roll vehicles, 6 pickup vehicles and 6 loaders for the disposal of green waste generated at the cattle markets. In addition, 30 handcarts and 35 waste containers have been installed around the cattle markets to facilitate proper waste disposal.

The SPAL cleaning operational teams are also carrying out water sprinkling at the entry and exit points of the cattle markets through water bowsers to maintain cleanliness and reduce dust. Special awareness camps have also been established at all 6 cattle markets to guide citizens regarding cleanliness measures during Eid-ul-Azha. Environment-friendly waste bags for the disposal of animal offal are being distributed through SPAL camps.

The agency has urged traders and visitors to dispose of leftover fodder and green waste in the designated waste bins to help maintain cleanliness at the cattle markets. Citizens have also been advised to contact the Suthra Punjab helpline 1139 for the immediate resolution of cleanliness related complaints.
