LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Apr, 2026) The Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) on Monday carried out a comprehensive zero-waste operation in Gulberg Town.

According to SPAL sources here over 1,000 sanitation workers and 134 operational vehicles were deployed to ensure effective cleanliness arrangements. Under the directives of Suthra Punjab Authority Director General Babar Sahib Din, sanitation teams successfully cleared 15 identified hotspot areas in Gulberg Town.

Mechanical washing, manual sweeping and scraping activities were also completed along Ferozepur Road.

As part of special cleanliness measures, around 170 loader rickshaws were deployed for door-to-door waste collection in the area.

Early morning waste clearance operations were carried out in Faisal Town, Maulana Shaukat Ali Road, Abdul Hasan Isfahani Road, Qazi Muhammad Isa Road, Allama Shabbir Usmani Road, Raja Market, Moon Market and International Market.

Routine mechanical sweeping and washing operations were being conducted daily on Main Boulevard Gulberg, MM Alam Road and Noor Jehan Road. Meanwhile, sanitation staff remained active in Ali Zeb Road, Main Market, Mini Market, Liberty Market and Barkat Market to complete early morning special cleaning operations.

Cleanliness teams were also deployed in Garden Town, Jeewan Hana Pind, Kotha Pind and areas surrounding Gaddafi Stadium. In addition, sanitation activities continued at Kalma Chowk Flyover, Maulana Shaukat Ali Road, Model Town Link Road and PECO Road.

SPAL teams were ensuring timely clearance of waste containers and uninterrupted door-to-door waste collection across the city to provide improved sanitation facilities to residents.
