SP City discusses security matters with religious leaders, traders ahead of Muharram

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jun, 2026) As part of preparations for Muharram-ul-Haram, SP City Division Muhammad Nauman met with custodians of Imambargahs from the City Circle and representatives of the traders’ community to discuss security arrangements for the upcoming month.

The meeting was held on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Ziauddin Ahmed and focused on ensuring the peaceful conduct of Muharram processions, religious gatherings, and other related activities.

During the meeting, SP Muhammad Nauman assured the participants that comprehensive security measures would be put in place to safeguard all processions and Majalis.

He said the police would utilize all available resources to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of mourners throughout Muharram.

He also urged religious leaders and members of the business community to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in promoting inter-sect harmony, maintaining peace, and upholding the rule of law.

The participants appreciated the efforts of the district police for making timely security arrangements and pledged their full support to ensure the peaceful observance of Muharram across the district.
