Soya bean oil imports decreased by 68.41 % in FY 2025-26

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jul, 2026) Soya-bean oil imports into the country during the financial year ended on June 30, 2026 decreased by 68.41 percent as compared to the imports of the corresponding period of the last financial year.

During the period from July-June, 2025-26, about 97,521 metric tons of soya bean oil costing $108.683 million were imported as compared to the imports of 321,211 metric tons valued at $344.026 million of the same period of the last year, according to the data of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

785 billion were also imported during the period under review as compared to the imports of 3.21million metric tons worth of $3.394 billion of the same period of the last year.

The food group imports into the country during the last financial year grew by 11.66 percent as different food commodities worth of $9.150 billion were imported as compared to the imports of $8.195 billion of the year 2024-25.

On the other hand, the food group exports from the country during the financial year 2025-26 were recorded at $5.017 billion as compared to the exports of $7.116 billion of the same period of the last financial year.
