Soldier martyred in Balochistan laid to rest with military honours

KHANEWAL, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) The funeral prayer of a brave soldier from Khanewal who embraced martyrdom

during an exchange of fire with terrorists in Balochistan was offered with military

honours.

Martyr Sohail Ahmad sacrificed his life for the defence of the country, bringing pride

to the nation. His funeral prayer was held at his native village 81/15-L, where

a large number of people gathered to pay their last respects.

District Police Officer Muhammad Abid, officers of Pakistan Army, civil and police

officials, family members and local residents attended the funeral in large numbers.

The DPO helped carry the coffin of the martyr, while a smartly turned-out contingent

of Pakistan Army presented a guard of honour.

The coffin, draped in the national flag,

moved attendees to tears as the atmosphere echoed with slogans of long-live Pakistan.

Officials met the martyr’s father, brothers and sons to offer condolences and express

solidarity with the bereaved family. Floral wreaths were laid on the grave of martyr

as a mark of respect.

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Muhammad Abid said the entire nation salutes the sacrifices

of its martyrs, adding that the supreme sacrifice of Martyr Sohail Ahmad for the protection

of homeland would always be remembered. He said martyrs were the pride of nation,

honour of the country and a symbol of national identity.
