ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) Pakistani high-altitude climber Sohail Sakhi from Hunza has successfully summited Kanchenjunga (8,586 metres), the world's third-highest mountain, adding another feather to Pakistan's cap in the world of mountaineering.
Sohail reached the summit of the Nepali peak at 12:12 AM local time on Wednesday as part of the rope-fixing team, a technically demanding and crucial role in any high-altitude expedition.
The achievement has further cemented Pakistan's growing reputation in the global mountaineering community.
