Social activist Shaista Baloch terms budget ‘growth-oriented, business-friendly

SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jun, 2026) Prominent social activist Ms Shaista Baloch on Saturday described the Federal Budget 2026-27 as a balanced, growth-oriented and business-friendly financial plan, saying it contained a comprehensive package of incentives aimed at accelerating economic activity and boosting exports.

Commenting on the budget, she welcomed the reforms introduced by the government to improve ease of doing business and facilitate investment across various sectors of the economy.

Ms Baloch termed the budget welfare-oriented and expressed confidence that it would contribute significantly to public well-being. She said the government’s focus on key sectors such as education and health reflected its commitment to improving the quality of life of citizens.

She also welcomed the substantial allocation for the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and the Apna Ghar Programme, saying these initiatives would provide much-needed support to low-income families and play an important role in poverty alleviation.

The activist said the budget offered relief to pensioners and salaried employees, and described it as encouraging for these segments of society. She noted that efforts had been made to keep taxes under control and that the budget had been prepared with due consideration of international economic conditions.

Congratulating the nation, Ms Baloch expressed confidence that the budget’s benefits would reach the people in the coming months. She added that no additional burden had been placed on the poor and that tax relief had been provided to offer greater financial ease to citizens.
