LARKANA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU), Larkana, announced that under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Nusrat Shah, Chandka Medical College, Larkana, organized a one-day seminar on “Islam: A Religion of Peace” in the context of Ramazan and current global developments.
The seminar featured a detailed lecture by renowned researcher Dr. Abdul Wahab Mangrio, who highlighted islam as a universal religion of peace. He emphasized that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was sent as a mercy for all humanity, and that Islam’s core principles are forgiveness, tolerance, and prioritizing the rights of people (Huquq al-Ibad).
Dr. Mangrio noted that understanding and applying these principles can foster peace and harmony in society, and that Islam teaches respect for all faiths.
In her address, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Nusrat Shah stressed that such seminars are crucial in today’s times.
She stated that knowledge is widely accessible, but action is needed to implement Islamic teachings.
She emphasized that peace in Islam is not merely a concept but a practical standard for daily life, and highlighted the importance of personal struggle (jihad al-nafs) in achieving moral and spiritual growth.
Principal of Chandka Medical College, Professor Dr. Shahid Hussain Soomro, remarked that Islam’s essence is safety and peace. He said the religion promotes love and harmony, rejects oppression, and encourages resolving conflicts through dialogue and understanding, which reflects true faith.
The seminar also included addresses by Vice-Principal Dr. Fozia Chandio and was attended by faculty members including Professor Ghulam Sarwar Sheikh, Professor Saeed Ahmed, Deputy Director IT Waheed Zaman, and Media Coordinator Abdul Samad Bhatti, along with a large number of students.
