Six weighing scale shops sealed over operating without licences

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jul, 2026) The Industries Department launched a crackdown against unlicensed weighing and measuring equipment businesses in Faisalabad and sealed six shops for operating without the mandatory Weights and Measures license.

District Officer Industries Muhammad Irfan accompanied by his inspection team conducted surprise checking along Samundri Road to verify the legal status of businesses dealing in weighing and measuring equipment.

During operation, the team found several establishments operating without the required license under the Weights and Measures laws and immediately initiated legal action by sealing the premises.

The sealed outlets included General Scale Company, Irfan Digital Scale, Unicode Digital Scale, Awami Digital Scale, Qaumi Digital Scale and another shop found violating the licensing regulations.

Speaking on the occasion, District Officer Industries Muhammad Irfan said that the department was committed to ensure strict enforcement of law and maintaining transparency and accuracy in commercial transactions involving weighing and measuring instruments.

He said that obtaining the prescribed license was mandatory for businesses dealing in weighing and measuring equipment. No individual or company would be allowed to conduct such business without fulfilling the legal requirements, he added.

He warned that inspection campaign would continue across the district and strict action would be taken against all violators to protect consumers' interests and ensure compliance with the relevant laws governing trade and commercial activities.
