Sindh Minister for Food Makhdoom Mehboob Uz Zaman has taken serious notice of the tragic incident in Mehrabpur, district Naushahro Feroze, where three members of a family reportedly died and 5 others fell ill after allegedly consuming contaminated food

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jun, 2026) Sindh Minister for Food Makhdoom Mehboob Uz Zaman has taken serious notice of the tragic incident in Mehrabpur, district Naushahro Feroze, where three members of a family reportedly died and 5 others fell ill after allegedly consuming contaminated food. The provincial minister directed the Sindh Food Authority (SFA) to conduct an immediate and comprehensive inquiry into the incident and submit a detailed report. Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives, Makhdoom Mehboob Uz Zaman termed the incident highly unfortunate and said that all aspects of the case must be thoroughly investigated to determine the actual cause of the tragedy and identify any possible negligence. He instructed the relevant authorities to establish immediate contact with the affected family and hospital administration and ensure full cooperation during the investigation process.

The Food Minister further directed Sindh Food Authority teams to collect food samples from the site and send them to laboratories for detailed analysis, adding that scientific evidence and laboratory findings would play a key role in establishing the facts. He also ordered the Food Department and Sindh Food Authority to submit findings at the earliest so that appropriate administrative and legal action could be taken if required. Makhdoom Mehboob Uz Zaman said the Sindh government remains committed to ensuring the availability of safe and quality food for the public and is strictly enforcing food safety regulations across the province.

The minister also expressed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the speedy recovery of those undergoing medical treatment.
