Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar visited the Central Police Office (CPO) Karachi to review the city’s overall security situation, the monitoring system, and the security arrangements on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali, the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA)
KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2026) Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar visited the Central Police Office (CPO) Karachi to review the city’s overall security situation, the monitoring system, and the security arrangements on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali, the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA).
Upon arrival at the Central Police Office, IGP Sindh Javed Alam Odho and other senior police officers received the Sindh Home Minister. Provincial Minister for Local Government Nasir Hussain Shah was also present on the occasion.
During the visit, the Sindh Home Minister inspected the Central Command and Control Center, where he was briefed on the monitoring being carried out through CCTV cameras installed across the city, measures taken for crime prevention, and the overall security arrangements.
IGP Sindh Javed Alam Odho informed the Home Minister that with the use of modern technology, various areas of the city are being continuously monitored, while a special security plan is also being effectively implemented in view of important religious occasions.
On this occasion, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar said that effective monitoring and timely preventive measures play a fundamental role in controlling crime and maintaining law and order.
He appreciated the performance of the Sindh Police, stating that the police force is fulfilling its professional responsibilities in an exemplary manner.
He further said that the Sindh Government is striving to equip the police with modern technology, necessary equipment, and training in line with contemporary requirements so that the protection of citizens’ lives and property can be made more effective.
The Home Minister also emphasized that public trust in the police should remain strong and unwavering, and institutional capacities are being further strengthened to achieve this objective.
Later, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar also visited the routes of the main procession held on the occasion of the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA) and reviewed the security arrangements.
On the occasion, the Home Minister was given a detailed briefing regarding police deployment, traffic management, surveillance systems, and other security measures along the procession routes. Expressing satisfaction over the arrangements, the Home Minister directed the concerned authorities to ensure the peaceful conduct of the procession at all costs.
Addl. IGP Karachi, DIGs of Headquarters, IT, Training, and other relevant senior officers were also present during the visit.
