KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2026) Sindh Minister for Livestock & Fisheries Muhammad Ali Malkani stated that the Sindh government is implementing policy measures to reduce the growing pressure on the harbour.

He expressed these views while chairing the board meeting of the Karachi Fisheries Harbour Authority, said a statement on Friday.

The meeting was attended by Parliamentary Secretary for Livestock & Fisheries MPA Asif Khan, Secretary Livestock & Fisheries Dr. Kazim Hussain Jatoi, MD Karachi Fisheries Harbour Authority Zahid Khemtio, senior officials from the Environment Department and Fishermen Cooperative Society, as well as Director General Fisheries (Marine) Asim Karim.

The Board decided that all future measures will be implemented in accordance with the requirements of the Master Plan and in line with European Union policy.

Commercial matters, employee promotions, salary increases, and new appointments will be resolved in line with Sindh government policy, while keeping in view the decisions of the Supreme Court and High Court, and based on recommendations from the Sindh Law Department.

It was also decided that the Fishermen Cooperative Society will obtain separate electricity meters within the next two months.

On the occasion, Provincial Minister Muhammad Ali Malkani also approved the hiring of an IT company through an auction process to computerize the entire record of the Karachi Fisheries Harbour Authority, including the registration of fishermen crew cards.
