Sindh Governor, SAPM discuss federal govt’s digital media initiatives, fake news

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Mar, 2026) The Governor of Sindh Muhammad Nehal Hashmi met with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Digital Media Fahad Haroon at the Governor House, here on Friday.

They discussed the current state of digital media, effective promotion of government initiatives and the positive use of social media platforms.

Fahad Haroon congratulated Muhammad Nehal Hashmi on assuming the office of Governor Sindh.

“Digital media is playing a key role in providing timely and accurate information to the public,” the Governor Sindh said.

He further said, “Equipping youth with digital skills and promoting the IT sector is the need of the hour”.

Fahad Haroon briefed the Governor on the Federal government’s digital media initiatives and ongoing projects.

“The government’s narrative is being communicated to the public in an effective, transparent and timely manner,” SAPM Fahad Haroon said.

They also discussed countering fake news and promoting responsible journalism.

They agreed on highlighting public issues through digital media and accelerating their resolution.
