Sialkot Museum Inaugurated on International Museum Day

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resources Punjab, Muhammad Mansha Ullah Butt, said that Sialkot has always been a city known for its history, craftsmanship, industry, and culture, and the inauguration of the Sialkot Museum is an important step toward preserving this remarkable heritage and passing it on to future generations.

He said that the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is taking practical measures to preserve historical heritage, promote cultural identity, and connect the younger generation with their roots.

He expressed these views while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Sialkot Museum organized by the District Administration Sialkot on the occasion of International Museum Day at Gulshan Iqbal Park, Pasrur Road, Sialkot.

The ceremony was attended by Secretary Auqaf Ehsan Bhatta, Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali, Members of the National and Provincial Assemblies Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar, Rana Arif Harnah, Chaudhry Faisal Ikram, and Naveed Ashraf, along with several other distinguished personalities including Abdul Shakoor Mirza, Khalid Latif, Rana Zafar Iqbal, Ejaz Ghauri, Umar Ayub, and Mehboob Elahi Khar.

Addressing the ceremony, Provincial Minister Mansha Ullah Butt said that the Sialkot Museum is not merely a building, but a beautiful center that brings together the city’s thousands of years old history, culture, traditions, industrial journey, and the contributions of its prominent personalities.

He said that Sialkot holds a unique position worldwide due to its sporting goods, surgical equipment and entrepreneurial spirit, and now this museum will further strengthen the identity of this city.
