RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) A water filtration plant in Union Council 28 of Sadiqabad has remained non-functional for the past eight months, forcing residents to rely on distant sources for drinking water and raising concerns over service delivery by Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA). Residents demanded from authorities concerned, urgent redressal of the issue.
Residents said the facility became inoperative after a tube well near Band Khanna Road developed a fault and its bore collapsed, rendering the system completely unusable.
They informed that despite repeated complaints, no repair work or alternative arrangement had been made, leaving the area without access to clean drinking water.
Locals said they were compelled to fetch water from far-off areas, affecting daily routines, particularly for women, elderly and children.
They added that the water supply provided by WASA was irregular and limited to about an hour at night without any fixed schedule, creating uncertainty and hardship.
Residents warned that continued shortage of clean water could lead to health risks and demanded immediate restoration of the filtration plant along with urgent repair or replacement of the faulty tube well.
They also urged the district administration to take notice, warning of protests if the issue remained unresolved.
