Show-cause notices issued over delay in land demarcation

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Feb, 2026) Show-cause notices have been issued over delays in land demarcation services following complaints filed by citizens with the Right to Public Services Commission.

The Commission heard 11 public complaints regarding failure to provide services within the prescribed time-frame. The hearings were conducted by Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Shahzada and Commissioner Zakir Hussain Afridi.

In one case, Tariq Mahmood from Haripur filed a complaint stating that land demarcation services were not delivered within the legally defined period. The Commission took action and issued a show-cause notice to the officer concerned.

Similarly, Malik Muhammad Shafi from Peshawar submitted a complaint regarding the issuance of a land record (Fard). The local Patwari was summoned by the Commission but failed to appear, leading to the issuance of a show-cause notice against him as well.

In another case from Charsadda, Fazal Din filed a complaint concerning land demarcation. The concerned Patwari appeared before the Commission, which directed him to carry out the demarcation in the presence of the applicant.

It is noteworthy that strict action has been initiated over delays in land demarcation and cases have been formally registered under the Commission’s directives.
