Shopkeepers fined for overcharging prices against the officially determined rates in Jatlan, Mirpur

MIRPUR (AJK) , (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 28th Feb, 2026) mobile Magisterial team, conducted surprise checking of the prices control, fined several shopkeepers for violating the prohibitory orders overcharging the prices of the commodities of daily use including edibles in thickly populated Jatlan town in out skirts of those lakeside city on Saturday.

Implementing the instructions of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister to ensure keeping the prices of food items moderate for the public during holy month of Ramadan in Mirpur district Extra Assistant Commissioner Raja Ayaz Ahmed Khan led surprise checking team conducted a detailed check of price control in Jatlan Bazaar in outskirts of Mirpur.

The team warned shopkeepers to refrain from over charging against the prescribed rates, the sources told APP.

The shopkeepers were advised to display the officially-determined rate lists at conspecious places on the shops to shoe to the customers on request and charge the prices of the items accordingly.
