Sheikh Aftab highlights development drive in Attock, praises national leadership

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2026) Member National Assembly Sheikh Aftab Ahmed has said Pakistan is playing a constructive role in international efforts aimed at promoting peace and reconciliation, while crediting the country’s leadership for advancing diplomacy and national development.

Addressing a large public gathering near Haji Shah on GT Road in connection with the inauguration of multiple development schemes on Saturday, he said that the diplomatic efforts of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar are being widely recognized both domestically and internationally. The event marked the launch of drainage and sewerage projects, street construction, a drainage system in Haji Bahadur Colony, and installation of a 200 KVA transformer, completed at a cost of Rs. 15 million.

The inauguration ceremony was preceded by a large reception and convoy procession, where Sheikh Aftab Ahmed was welcomed by supporters and local residents. Floral tributes and traditional honors were presented during the event, which was organized by local party workers and community representatives.

Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Aftab praised former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, stating that major national milestones—including infrastructure expansion, nuclear development, and energy sector improvements—were achieved under his leadership.

He also referred to Nawaz Sharif’s decision during nuclear testing as a moment of national resolve and sovereignty.

He further lauded the current government leadership for what he described as efforts toward economic stability and regional peace diplomacy, particularly in managing complex international tensions. He expressed confidence that Pakistan is on a path toward recovery and sustained development.

Highlighting constituency-level progress, he said extensive development work is underway across NA-49, including roads, electrification, gas supply, and civic infrastructure projects in Attock, Hazro, and Hassan Abdal. He added that ongoing schemes worth billions of rupees are either nearing completion or already operational.

The event was attended by local political leaders, community figures, and party representatives, who reiterated support for ongoing development initiatives in the region.
