Highlighting the importance of the Hijri calendar, Shehbaz Sharif said the Islamic New Year serves as a reminder of the historic Hijrah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which laid the foundation of a model society based on justice, equality, brotherhood, faith, and service to humanity principles that reshaped the course of human civilization.

The prime minister also paid tribute on the occasion of Muharram-ul-Haram, honoring the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions in the Battle of Karbala. He said their steadfast resistance against oppression continues to stand as a timeless example of courage, truth, and justice for the Muslim world.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to global Muslim causes, Shehbaz Sharif urged renewed solidarity with oppressed communities, particularly in Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and called for continued efforts to highlight their rights at international forums.

He further encouraged citizens to uphold principles of honesty, diligence, tolerance, mutual respect, and national unity, emphasizing that sustainable development and national progress depend on collective effort and responsible conduct.
