Sources say Shaheen Afridi pulled out of league just one day before auction was scheduled to take place
LONDON: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 12nd, 2026) Pakistan’s star fast bowler Shaheen Afridi has withdrawn from the upcoming The Hundred tournament in England, sources confirmed on Wednesday.
The sources said that Shaheen Afridi pulled out of the league just one day before the auction was scheduled to take place.
The decision came ahead of his international commitments with the Pakistan cricket team.
The officials said the fast bowler will focus on Pakistan’s Test series against West Indies set for July, which clashes with the tournament schedule.
Afridi’s withdrawal from the high-profile franchise league is expected to impact team compositions, as franchises had anticipated his participation in this season of The Hundred. The pacer, however, remains committed to representing Pakistan on the international stage.
