Shafqat Ali Shah Appointed PML-F Sindh Finance Secretary; Workers Celebrate Across Province

SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2026) Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) Sindh has appointed Syed Shafqat Ali Shah as the new Finance Secretary for the province of Sindh, according to a notification issued here.

The appointment was made by PML-F Sindh President Syed Sadruddin Shah Rashdi under the provisions of the Party Constitution and powers conferred by the Sindh Council in its meeting held in Karachi.

As per the notification, Shafqat Ali Shah’s term will run from May 21, 2026, to May 20, 2027, and will be automatically extended for another year unless rescinded earlier. The notification, signed by General Secretary Sardar Abdul Rahim, expressed hope that Syed Shafqat Ali Shah would work honestly and diligently with other party workers to promote the party’s fair name among the people.

Party leaders and workers highlighted Syed Shafqat Ali Shah’s long association with PML-Functional, noting his consistent work at the grassroots level and his role in strengthening party organization in Sindh specially northern Sindh over the years.

They said he has remained actively engaged in mobilizing workers, coordinating district-level activities, and upholding the party’s principles during various political phases. Colleagues described him as a loyal and disciplined worker whose contributions have been recognized within party ranks for his commitment to organizational discipline and public outreach.

Following the announcement, a large number of PML-F workers and supporters across Sindh hailed the decision. Celebrations were reported in several districts including Sukkur, Khairpur, Ghotki, Gambat, Saleh Putt, Kingri, Piryalio and other small and big towns, where party activists distributed sweets and conveyed their best wishes to the newly appointed Finance Secretary.
