ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th May, 2026) The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly hot and dry weather in most parts of the country on Wednesday.
The PMD has warned that very hot conditions are likely to persist in Sindh and southern Balochistan, while isolated rain-windstorms and thunderstorms may occur in upper regions.
The Met Office said partly cloudy weather with chances of rain, windstorm, and thunderstorms may occur at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
In Islamabad and adjoining areas, partly cloudy weather is expected during the day.
The PMD forecast said most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would remain hot and dry; however, isolated rain-wind/thunderstorms may occur in Dir, Chitral, Malakand, Kohistan, Buner, Malam Jabba, Kalam, Parachinar and Abbottabad.
Punjab is also likely to experience mainly hot and dry weather, while isolated rain-wind/duststorm-thunderstorm is expected in Murree and Galiyat.
In Sindh, hot and dry weather is expected in most districts, with very hot conditions likely in the upper districts of the province.

Cloudy weather with chances of rain-wind/thunderstorms has also been forecast at isolated places in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
During the last 24 hours, rain-windstorms and thunderstorms occurred at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar region, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, while hot and dry weather prevailed over other parts of the country.
Southern districts remained under intense heat conditions.
The highest rainfall recorded during the period was in Malam Jabba, where 67 millimetres of rain was received, followed by Parachinar, 16mm, Saidu Sharif, 15mm and Pattan, 12mm.
According to the PMD, the highest maximum temperature recorded on Tuesday was 47 degrees Celsius in Turbat, followed by Lasbela 46.C, while Sibi, Jacobabad, Dadu and Gwadar recorded 45 C each.
The maximum temperature in Islamabad is expected to remain between 18C and 33C, Lahore 24C to 38C, Karachi 28C to 38C, Peshawar 20C to 39C and Quetta 16C to 34 °C.
