Security tightened, high alert ordered in Faisalabad after Bhakkar incident

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Feb, 2026) The district administration reviewed the overall law & order situation and tightened arrangements in addition to ordering for high alert in Faisalabad after Bhakkar incident.

Chairing a meeting of District Emergency board, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Fazal Abbas directed the police and other departments to further tighten security at mosques, imambargahs, schools, public and private offices as well as hospitals.

He instructed all hospitals to keep doctors and paramedical staff on high alert and complete advance arrangements to effectively handle any potential emergency situation.

He paid special emphasis on security during Friday congregations and directed to deploy police personnel and volunteers at key points by reassessing the existing security plans and improving monitoring of parking areas to prevent any untoward incident.

He made it clear that all available resources would be utilized to maintain law & order and protect lives and property of the citizens. No negligence would be tolerated in ensuring public safety, he added.

The meeting was informed that police had already launched search operations in various localities while it was also decided to conduct mock exercises to test emergency response preparedness and inter-departmental coordination.

Officers of police, Rescue 1122, Civil Defense, medical superintendents of hospitals, colleges, Municipal Corporation and other relevant departments were also present in the meeting and the carried out a comprehensive assessment of security preparedness across the district.
