Security put on high alert in district, Indus River routes from KP sealed after suicide attack

DARYA KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) The security has been placed on high alert in district following a suicide attack at the Punjab Police inter provincial checkpoint on the Dera Ismail Khan Bridge.

The authorities had temporarily closed the Darya Khan–Dera Ismail Khan Bridge, the official sources said, adding the law enforcement agencies had started investigations.

The district administration had sealed all riverine routes along the Indus River adjoining Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) until further notice, they added.

The sources said all forms of movement and transportation through these crossings had been suspended.

The river check posts have launched search operations in adjacent localities, with strict monitoring in place.
