Security plan reviewed for Yaum-e-Ali in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Mar, 2026) An important meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Wednesday to review security arrangements for Yaum-e-Shahadat Hazrat Ali (AS), to be observed with due reverence on 20th Ramazan (March 10).

The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr Hassan Tariq and attended by members of the District Peace Committee, representatives of security agencies, police officers and officials of relevant departments.

It reviewed the security plan, traffic management, parking arrangements and measures to deal with any emergency situation.

Dr Hassan Tariq directed all departments to strengthen coordination, ensure special monitoring of sensitive locations and check the functionality of CCTV cameras.

He said the district administration, police and other relevant institutions would perform their duties in full harmony to provide a peaceful and secure environment to citizens.

The meeting also stressed the need to promote religious harmony and inter-sect tolerance. It was warned that any form of incitement, wall chalking, or violation of the law would not be tolerated.

The participants assured the district administration of their full cooperation and resolved to take all necessary measures to ensure that the day was observed peacefully and respectfully.
