Security forces killed five militants during major intelligence-based operation in the district of Lakki Marwat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to ISPR, an intense exchange of fire took place between the forces and the militants during the operation, resulting in the deaths of five insurgents described as Khawarij.
During the operation, security personnel also recovered weapons and a large quantity of ammunition from the militants.
Sources said the killed militants were involved in various terrorist activities and were allegedly receiving support from external elements.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to locate any other militants who may be hiding nearby.
Officials stated that such operations will continue until terrorism is completely eliminated from the country and that enemies of peace will not be spared under any circumstances.
