Security arrangements beefed up as rush increases in cattle markets

Lahore Police have further tightened security in view of the increasing rush in cattle markets ahead of Eid-ul-Adha

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2026) Lahore Police have further tightened security in view of the increasing rush in cattle markets ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.

DIG Operations Faisal Kamran visited Shahpur Kanjran cattle market and reviewed the security arrangements and met with the officers and officials on duty and also inquired from citizens and traders about the security situation and arrangements.

According to DIG Operations, 120 officers and officials are posted in Shahpur Kanjran cattle market while police personnel are performing duty in three shifts.

He said that there is a ban on buying and selling livestock outside of approved points, while patrolling is also ongoing on highways adjacent to livestock markets.

Moreover, authorities have deployed thousands of police personnel, while implementing strict CCTV surveillance, and set up designated entry and exit points at cattle markets to prevent animal theft, fraud, and financial exploitation before Eid-ul-Adha.
