SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry has imposed Section 144 across the district, banning bathing, swimming, tube swimming, diving and washing clothes in rivers, canals and distributaries during Eid-ul-Adha to prevent drowning incidents and protect human lives.

According to an official notification issued by the district administration here on Tuesday, the ban will remain enforced for 30 days and will apply to River Jhelum, River Chenab, and all canals and distributaries within the limits of district Sargodha.

The order states that during Eid-ul-Adha and the summer season, a large number of youngsters and children visit canals and rivers for bathing and swimming, resulting in tragic drowning incidents every year.
