KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) The district administration has imposed Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure across Kohat for 30 days in view of security and public safety concerns ahead of Eid-ul-Azha 2026, officials said on Monday.
According to a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz, several activities have been prohibited to maintain law and order during the festive period. These include the establishment of illegal cattle markets, collection of animal hides by banned organizations, sale of firecrackers and toy guns, one-wheeling, aerial firing, public display of weapons, and swimming or boating in dams, rivers, canals, and other water bodies.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The administration said the preventive measures were aimed at averting potential threats to life and property and ensuring a peaceful environment during Eid celebrations. Authorities warned that strict legal action would be taken against violators under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Copies of the order have been circulated to all relevant departments, police officials, and municipal authorities for strict enforcement across the district.
