Secretary Colleges Sindh visits DJ Science College

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Feb, 2026) Secretary of Sindh College Education Department Nadeem ur Rehman Memon on Tuesday paid a visit to the

historic DJ Science College in Karachi, where he was briefed in detail on the college’s academic facilities,

classrooms, library, and practical laboratories.

During the visit, the Secretary reviewed the administrative and educational facilities of the college and

inspected various departments and sections of the college building.

He directed that maintenance and improvement of laboratory equipment and overall infrastructure be ensured to

provide students with quality education and enhance academic standards.

The visit was attended by DG Colleges Sindh, Regional Director Colleges Karachi, Chief Engineer, Director (Development), and other relevant officials.

Secretary Nadeem Memon also inspected the Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Computer, and other science laboratories and directly observed students performing practical experiments. He instructed the college administration to keep all departments clean, organized, and fully functional. Laboratories must remain modern and fully operational to ensure that students acquire practical skills alongside theoretical knowledge.

The Secretary emphasised that practical education is an essential component of scientific learning and that lab work and hands-on experiments must be given top priority to foster students’ scientific thinking and skills.

He also highlighted the recent budget allocations for the college and stressed that the funds should be used transparently and effectively for the benefit of students. He said every expenditure would be accountable and

reiterated that education is a fundamental right.

Modern equipment, chemicals, safety gear, computers, and scientific instruments should be utilised for students’ learning, and teaching standards across all departments must be improved. He also instructed the administration to ensure that all safety measures are in place and that every laboratory is equipped with necessary protective equipment.

Secretary Nadeem Memon met with students to gauge how effectively they were benefiting from lab work and practical education, noting that such interactions boost students’ motivation and enthusiasm for learning.

He added that DJ Science College would serve as a model for other colleges in the province, demonstrating how transparent and effective budget utilisation, along with active teaching and lab work can enhance quality education.
