PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2026) The Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on Wednesday welcomed the launch of the Peshawar Safe City Project, describing it as an important step towards improving security and boosting investor confidence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In a statement, SCCI President Junaid Altaf, along with Senior Vice President Muhammad Nadeem and Vice President Sabir Ahmad Bangash, appreciated the KP government, police and other stakeholders for formally launching the project equipped with advanced AI-powered cameras and round-the-clock surveillance.
They said the initiative would help ensure protection of life and property, create a safer environment for citizens and address long-standing security concerns of the business community.
Junaid Altaf said improved security would play a key role in restoring the confidence of investors and reviving business and commercial activities in the province, where capital flight in recent years has affected economic growth and employment.
He added that the chamber was working with the provincial and Federal governments to secure a special incentive package for the revival of industry and to promote investment opportunities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
