ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jul, 2026) The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notices to the prosecutor and other respondents on the bail petitions filed by Mahrang Baloch, Bibi Baloch and Beebarg, and adjourned the hearing for an indefinite period.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar heard the petitions.
During the proceedings, Justice Mazhar asked whether separate first information reports (FIRs) had been registered against each of the three petitioners.
Counsel for the petitioners, Jibran Nasir, informed the court that separate FIRs had been lodged against all three.
Justice Mazhar further inquired about the main issue in the cases and the progress of the trial. Jibran Nasir told the bench that in Mahrang Baloch's case, statements of two out of six prosecution witnesses had so far been recorded.

Jibran Nasir submitted that, under the law, offences carrying a maximum punishment of three years or less are bailable, adding that all offences included in the FIR against Mahrang Baloch carry sentences of less than three years.
After hearing the preliminary arguments, the Supreme Court issued notices to the prosecutor and other parties on the bail petitions and adjourned the matter indefinitely.
