Saudi support hailed as major boost to Pakistan’s economic stability

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) Chairman Ulema Council Pakistan (UCP) Sahibzada Zahid Mahmood Qasmi on Wednesday hailed Saudi Arabia’s provision of financial assistance to Pakistan as a significant step towards economic stability, terming it a reflection of strong and enduring brotherly ties between the two countries.

In a statement issued here, he said that Saudi Arabia had always stood by Pakistan during difficult times and the latest financial support was a practical demonstration of the longstanding fraternal relationship between the two Islamic nations.

He said that the assistance would help strengthen Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves and provide much-needed support to the national economy at a critical juncture.

He also appreciated the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar for their role in securing the financial assistance.

Ulema Council Pakistan expressed gratitude to the Saudi leadership and prayed for further strengthening of relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, he added.
