SAU students secure second position at National Venture Spark 2026 start-up competition

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Feb, 2026) Students of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam met Vice Chancellor Engr Prof Dr Altaf Ali Siyal after achieving an outstanding second position in the national start-up competitions held during Venture Spark 2026 at Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture, Multan.

The DVM student team including Zarshat Naeem Rao, Sher Muhammad Pirzada, Samera Junejo and Hasnain Koondhar presented their award cheque to the Vice Chancellor and shared details of their innovative business venture and competition experience. Congratulating the students on their remarkable success, Dr Siyal praised their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, expressing confidence in their bright future.

Addressing the gathering, the Vice Chancellor emphasized that nurturing entrepreneurial abilities among youth is key to strengthening the national economy. He stressed the importance of building strong linkages between academic institutions and industry to transform innovative ideas into viable businesses.

He noted that SAU was actively creating opportunities that enhance not only academic performance but also students’ intellectual growth and professional confidence.

Highlighting the immense potential within the agriculture sector, he said modern thinking and innovation can unlock profitable business opportunities for young graduates.

Dr Siyal further stated that student-driven start-ups can play a significant role in promoting industry, particularly through value addition of agricultural products and effective marketing strategies, ultimately contributing to economic stability.

He also announced that the university will soon launch a dedicated scholarship program to support talented students in achieving excellence across multiple fields.

The students stated that four start-ups from SAU qualified for the final round of the competition. Among them, the start-up “Desert Dairy,” based on bio-products developed from camel milk, secured second position at the national level.

The meeting was also attended by Dr Muhammad Saleem Sarki, Director of the Business Incubation Center along with Dr Asmatullah Kaka and Dr Ghulam Hussain Wagan.
