HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) Sindhi Association of North America (SANA) has launched a scholarship program for meritorious students of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam under which scholarship cheques were distributed among meritorious students during a ceremony held at the university.
Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal presided over the ceremony and distributed scholarship cheques among undergraduate and postgraduate students selected under donor-supported and merit-based scholarship schemes.
According to the SAU spokesperson, scholarship cheques worth Rs. 3.69 million were awarded to 46 students under the SANA-FAME SAU Scholarship Program and the Scotland–Pakistan Scholarship Scheme 2025–26 for young women and girls.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor termed the launch of SANA scholarships for students of Sindh Agriculture University a welcoming development, noting that the organization had previously been supporting students of other universities across the country. He said the initiative would help talented students continue their education without financial constraints and encourage academic excellence at the university.
Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal further announced that the university would also enhance financial support for deserving students through its Endowment Fund, provided students maintain strong academic performance and merit standards.

Earlier, Rafique Ahmed Shaikh briefed participants about the scholarship initiatives and informed that 28 students received scholarships worth Rs. 1.882 million under the SANA-FAME SAU Scholarship Program, while 18 female students were awarded scholarships amounting to Rs. 1.814 million under the Scotland–Pakistan Scholarship Scheme.
Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal also appreciated the efforts of the members of the scholarship committee, particularly Dr. Tahseen Fatima Miano and Dr. Arif Hussain Magsi, for their significant role in securing the SANA scholarships for the students of the university.
On the occasion, Dr. Tahseen Fatima Miano and Dr. Arif Magsi also addressed the ceremony and highlighted the importance of scholarship opportunities in promoting academic excellence and supporting deserving students.
