HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2026) Marking 75 years of enduring diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam hosted a grand ceremony celebrating the historic friendship and expanding cooperation between the two countries in higher education, agricultural research, scientific innovation and cultural exchange. The event highlighted the growing role of academic partnerships and technology-driven agriculture in addressing future challenges related to food security and sustainable development.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof Dr Altaf Ali Siyal said the time-tested friendship between Pakistan and China had created valuable opportunities for students, researchers and agricultural experts from both countries. He stated that collaboration in higher education, scientific research and modern agricultural technologies would significantly contribute to sustainable development, innovation and economic prosperity.
Dr Siyal informed participants that the university had signed several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with leading Chinese universities and launched a student capacity-building program for professional training in China. He noted that the initiative would equip students with exposure to advanced research methodologies, modern agricultural practices and international academic experiences.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He further said that joint projects between Chinese institutions and agricultural research organizations in Sindh would support food security, modernize farming systems and strengthen rural communities through innovation-based agriculture and technology transfer.
Director General Agriculture Research Sindh Dr Mazharuddin Keerio said collaborative initiatives in crop research, technology adoption and professional training had already benefited local farmers and contributed to improving agricultural productivity and food security across the province.
Earlier, Prof Dr Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar welcomed the participants and described Pakistan-China relations as “higher than the Himalayas, deeper than the oceans and sweeter than honey.” He said the friendship between the two nations was founded on mutual trust, respect and a shared vision spanning over seven decades.
The ceremony concluded with remarks by Sanaullah Solangi, who thanked the guests, faculty members, students and organizers for making the event successful.
A large number of teachers, students, officers and employees attended the ceremony, reflecting strong institutional commitment toward further strengthening Pak-China cooperation in education, agriculture and scientific research.
