HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jun, 2026) Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam and Brooke Pakistan are further strengthening their collaboration to promote animal welfare, veterinary education, research, and community awareness across Sindh.
The partnership focuses on improving the health and well-being of working equines, including horses, donkeys, and mules, while creating learning, training, and professional development opportunities for students and veterinary professionals.
In this connection, Vice Chancellor of Sindh Agriculture University, Prof. Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal, met with representatives of Brooke Pakistan at his office to review the progress of ongoing joint initiatives and discuss future areas of cooperation.
Prof. Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal appreciated Brooke Pakistan's efforts and reaffirmed the university's full support for promoting animal welfare, veterinary education, and public awareness. He said such initiatives not only contribute to better animal health and welfare but also provide valuable practical training and professional growth opportunities for students and graduates.
During the meeting, Dr. Sher Nawaz, Regional Manager Karachi, and Dr. Naimatullah Soomro briefed the Vice Chancellor on Brooke's mission, animal welfare approaches, and the progress achieved under the partnership.

The meeting also reviewed the ongoing five-year collaboration between SAU and Brooke Pakistan, which includes research on animal health and diseases, training of veterinarians and para-veterinary staff, student internships, and awareness programs aimed at encouraging compassionate treatment of animals among owners and communities.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Nawaz Tunio, the focal person for the collaboration, was also present on the occasion. He proposed allocating a dedicated space at the university for displaying Brooke's awareness messages, educational materials, and training resources. The Vice Chancellor welcomed the proposal and asked the focal person to submit a formal plan, assuring that suitable space would be allocated for the purpose.
Under the partnership, a dedicated facility is planned within the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences to support research, training, awareness campaigns, and student engagement activities. The collaboration is also expected to provide internship opportunities and enhance career prospects for SAU graduates through links with national and international organizations.
