Sarsabz Kisan convention held in Lodhran to boost cotton production

LODHRAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) The Agriculture Extension Department, in collaboration with Fatima Group, organised a 'Sarsabz Kissan Convention' in Lodhran aimed at promoting cotton cultivation and creating awareness among farmers about modern agricultural practices and government initiatives for increasing crop yield.

A large number of farmers, agricultural experts and officials attended the convention.

Speaking on the occasion, DSM Haroon Hameed shed light on the business profile and services being provided by agricultural experts, the Agriculture department and FFC for the facilitation of farmers.

Deputy Director Agriculture Extension, Malik Zafar, said that climate change was the biggest challenge facing the farming community.

He stated that Tehsil Kahror Pacca district Lodhran was among the major cotton-growing areas and urged farmers to take full advantage of the facilities and technical guidance being offered by the Agriculture Extension department.

He emphasized the need for increasing cotton cultivation to strengthen the national economy and improve farmers’ income.

Farmers participating in the convention appreciated FFC’s efforts for organizing the “Sarsabz Cotton Convention” and providing awareness regarding modern farming techniques.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Muhammad Tayyab said FFC was providing free soil and water testing facilities to farmers through its modern laboratory services. He added that the company had also introduced the “Sarsabz Application” to guide farmers about crop management, land conditions and agricultural solutions through digital technology.
