Sargodha police arrest over 200 accused;seize narcotics,weapons in April

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) Police arrested 202 suspects and recovered narcotics and illegal weapons during a month-long intensified crackdown across the district in April.

According to a press release issued by the DPO Office on Monday,the operations were conducted on the special directives of District Police Officer(DPO) Sargodha Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf to curb criminal activities and ensure public safety.

During the anti-narcotics drive,police arrested 76 suspects and recovered four kilograms of ice, 15 kilograms of hashish, and 2,400 liters of liquor from their possession.

In a parallel operation against illegal weapons, 126 suspects were apprehended and a large cache of arms was recovered, including four Kalashnikovs,11 rifles,21 shotguns,88 pistols,two carbines and over 400 bullets and cartridges.

DPO Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf said the crackdown against criminal elements would be further intensified to make the district crime-free and ensure protection of citizens’ lives and property.
