Sanaullah, Türkiye Ambassador discuss regional security, Pakistan– Turkiye Cooperation

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Mar, 2026) The Ambassador of Turkiye to Pakistan, Irfan Neziroglu, met on Tuesday with the Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, to discuss bilateral matters and the evolving political and security situation in the region.

Federal Secretary for Inter-Provincial Coordination Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani was also present at the meeting. During the meeting, the two sides held detailed discussions on issues of mutual interest as well as the changing political and defense dynamics in the region.

Sanaullah, who also holds the portfolio of the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) and the Ambassador expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions and conflict situation involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.

Both leaders agreed that war cannot resolve disputes and warned that ongoing hostilities are not only causing loss of human life but also posing serious risks to the global economy and energy supply chains.

They emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region and called for diplomatic solutions to ongoing conflicts.

The adviser briefed the Turkish envoy on the situation along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border and outlined Pakistan’s position regarding its relations with Afghanistan.

During the discussion, the Ambassador informed Sanaullah that the Minister of Sports of Turkiye is scheduled to visit Pakistan in May. The visit is aimed at strengthening sports cooperation between the two countries and creating joint platforms for youth engagement.

The Federal Secretary reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Turkiye across various sectors at the inter-provincial level.

Sanaullah also highlighted the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkiye, saying that Pakistan attaches great importance to its ties with Ankara and that the two countries have consistently stood by each other in times of difficulty.
