Sanaullah hails labourers as ‘backbone’ of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st May, 2026) Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Rana Sanaullah said that labourers were the 'real strength' behind the country’s progress and prosperity.

Paying tribute to Pakistan’s workforce on International Labour Day on Friday, he said, workers serving in factories, fields and all walks of life deserve the highest respect.

In a statement, the minister said the government is committed to taking practical steps for the welfare and better future of the working class.

He noted that Islamic teachings gave a distinguished status to hard work and lawful earnings.

Describing the working class as the backbone of national development, Sanaullah stressed that ensuring safe working conditions and protecting workers’ legitimate rights was a collective responsibility. “Labour Day reminds us to honour the sacrifices and services of workers,” he said, adding that their role in shaping Pakistan’s future was vital and a source of national pride.
