CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Feb, 2026) Salma Butt, Special Assistant to Chief Minister of Punjab, Price Control and Commodities Management, visited Chiniot, reviewing the implementation of the Nighaban Ramadan package at the DC office.
According to APP correspondent, the Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan briefed her on the progress, stating that 21,848 beneficiaries have received Nighan Ramadan cards worth Rs. 10,000 each.
Aysha highlighted initiatives like Sahulat Bazaar and Ramadan bazaars, offering essentials at 15% below market rates. Price Control Magistrates ensure fixed prices, tackling hoarding and price gouging. Iftar arrangements are being made for hundreds of fasting people daily at Nighan Dastar Khwan.
Salma Butt expressed satisfaction with the package's implementation, appreciating the district administration's efforts. She reviewed public complaints in the control room, directing action against overcharging.
She announced action against 3 officials over para-force complaints. Over 2,000 people are guests at 10 Ramadan tables in Chiniot during Iftar, reflecting the government's commitment.
She thanked Chaudhry Masood Iqbal for his efforts, acknowledging his contribution to the Nighaban table. The visit aimed to review steps taken under Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's orders.
