Safe City cameras cut crime by 60% in Muzaffargarh

MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2026) The establishment of the Safe City project in Muzaffargarh has led to a remarkable decline in crime,with the rate dropping by nearly 60 percent in the city area over the past year,officials said.

Safe City Manager Rizwan Haider,while talking to the media,said that the installation of surveillance cameras and modern monitoring systems has greatly improved law enforcement and crime detection.

He said,before the establishment of the Safe City system,police used to receive more than 80 calls per month regarding theft,robbery and other minor crimes.

However,the number of such calls has now decreased to around 35 per month,which reflect a clear improvement in the law and order situation.

Rizwan Haider said the Safe City Authority was working in close coordination with the police to monitor suspicious activities and ensure timely response to incidents.

He added that the Safe City cameras were proving highly effective in deterring criminal activities and helping authorities identify and trace suspects,which has contributed to maintaining better security in the city.
